ONE UGLY COWBOY (OUC) is a high-energy Toronto-based country/rock band fronted by powerhouse vocalist Hurricane Jane. Blending gritty country vibes with edgy rock, OUC delivers heartfelt, often humorous original tunes—and a bold twist on classics.
Founded by vocalist Jane Sowerby and guitarist/producer Richard Zwic, the duo brings decades of experience. Jane, a former L.A.-based performer managed by industry heavyweights, has over 100 film/TV credits. Richard has played alongside Canadian rock legends and worked with JUNO winners.
Joined by Rick Ottenbrite (bass) and Mike Mann (drums), OUC released their debut EP Get Yer Ugly On in 2015 and full-length album Ride With The Wind in 2020—landing six Top 5 singles on the Canadian Indie Country Countdown, including multiple #1s.
Recent hits like I’m Owning My Crazy and their fiery cover of Ring of Fire have earned chart-topping success, video accolades, and multiple award nominations—including at the Josie Music Awards and Texas Sounds International Music Awards.
With performances at major festivals and support slots for artists like Lee Brice and Honeymoon Suite, OUC is known for shows that are unforgettable, uplifting, and uniquely “ugly.”
