Rudy Mayes is the youngest of eleven children. His influences were everything from gospel to jazz to country music. Rudy started singing at the tender age of ten and soon gave way to a unique personality with his heart-felt performances. Known as the man with the “million dollar” smile and blessed with a resonating baritone voice, Rudy has developed a unique crooner style reminiscent of the past yet has stayed true to his own natural talent. Rudy headlined his own show entitled “Unforgettable Brothers of Song”. He also performed in “The Kings of Swing and the Fabulous Crooners”. He also stars in the Black Gold show. Ester Finocchiaro is the youngest of three children. At the age of four Ester’s family moved to Toronto, Canada from Italy. With two older brothers that played guitar, music never lacked in their household. From the Beatles to Black Sabbath to Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald. The unique combination of Rudy’s deep sexy voice and Ester’s sweet high voice is a real treat which melts the hearts of everyone who experiences their wonderful chemistry. Their contagious style has won the hearts of many Torontonians that follow them wherever they perform.
As 2B1 Ester and Rudy can be found nostalgically singing for any occasion. Their repertoire consists of over 500 songs consisting of jazz, R&B, pop/adult contemporary and rock’n’roll and have performed in theatres, corporate shows, weddings, private parties and restaurants. The dynamic duo has performed at the upscale Monte Cristo Restaurant (downtown Toronto), Ristorante 101 (Yonge and Lawrence) and 1505 North (Burlington) to name a few, occasionally accompanied by renowned jazz musician Joe Sealy.
