Dean Young

Dean Young is a Canadian country singer songwriter from Ontario. Raised in a musical family he was even showcasing his talents at square dances by the age of three. His Dad Bazil Young is a well known local (Port Colborne; Niagara) Country musician, radio host and DJ (CHOW & CHLM and also on the “Ramblin’ Lou’s Radio Show as guest host with brother Wally Young – “The Young Brothers”). Although Dean’s father had him learning guitar at a very young age, by the age of 15 Dean’s interest in musical instruments turned to playing the drums. He quickly caught the attention of the local music circuit and was soon playing drums while singing, both backing and lead, with numerous bands in Ontario Canada. (New York Minute, 21 Plus, White Frost, The Limit etc). Dean also enjoys playing acoustic guitar and percussion. His musical influences are mainly Country and Rock.

Dean’s style of country music is heavily influenced by his family of musicians and history with classic country. It is described as a neotraditional and soulful country sound, with raw vocals reminiscent of Collin Raye or Brooks & Dunn – Dutch Bickell – Canadian Beats
